Description

“Light Years” reveals an other-worldly landscape, an illuminated horizon and a distant passage into another realm. Soft golds and orange contrast with a darkness below, creating an image with a powerful emotional connection.

The crystals were formed by evaporating a solution of phenylethylamine—a naturally occurring compound associated with chocolate—on a glass microscope slide. Photographed through a microscope using polarized light, the crystalline structures interact with the transmitted light to produce their remarkable colors.
